Banksia Pods are from Australia and are compared to pine cones, though Banksia trees are not conifers and aren’t related to pine trees. These pods are quite dense and easier-to-turn than you might think.
Our medium banksia pods range in size range from 4 - 6" long, with a diameter ranging from 2.5" to 4" wide. Some woodturners fill these voids with resin or other colored inlay materials, while others choose to showcase the openings as a prominent design feature.
